After seven years of planning, design and construction, Powerhouse Parramatta will open its doors to the public on 7 November, marking a significant addition to Australia’s cultural landscape and a major investment in Western Sydney.
Spanning more than 18,000m² of exhibition and public space along the Parramatta River, the $915 million development brings together architecture, engineering, technology and cultural experiences on an impressive scale.
EBSA is proud to have contributed to the project through the supply of our BT90 thermally broken louvre system, incorporating high-performance glazing to support the building’s thermal and environmental performance.
Designed by Moreau Kusunoki in collaboration with Genton and Arup, the new institution will feature five opening exhibitions showcasing more than 3,000 objects, spanning science, technology, design, history and contemporary culture.
With everything now coming together ahead of opening, it is fantastic to see this significant project reach such an important milestone.
